Second Year Placement
  • The Second-Year Placement application form will be open from March 21 - May 22.

Form – Request for Credit Limit Increase

  • Balancing a full course load is challenging, so a credit increase is not usually recommended, particularly if you work or have other responsibilities.

If you choose to take a credit increase, you are not eligible for academic concession for issues related to the increased workload.

    Considerations and Eligibility
    • Credit limit increase eligibility will be based on academic performance, academic load balance, and reason for taking extra credits in a session.
    • Credit increases are only permitted after general course registration closes and all students have had a chance to register.
    • Credit increases are not granted to accommodate waitlists.
    • 1-credit increases will generally be approved for students in good standing. For any increases of more than 1 credit, an academic advising meeting will be required before approval can be given.
    • Summer courses are much more rigorous in structure due to term length. For this reason, it is not recommended students take more than 4 courses per summer session. If you are requesting to increase summer credit limit to take more than 4 courses, an academic advising meeting will be required before approval can be given.
  • Students need to request credit limit increase through their COOP Advisor. Students currently registered in a COOP term should not use this form.
  • Please indicate which term you are requesting a credit limit increase for. Note - requests for summer should include your total for both term 1 & term 2.
  • Students have a 12 credit limit in the Summer Session.
  • EAS highly recommends that you also speak with your program advisor to ensure that this will be an appropriate workload, given that summer courses are more condensed. Please be ready to forward a written confirmation from the advisor when an EAS Academic Advisor reaches out to you so you do not experience any delays with your request.
  • Please do not use paragraph breaks.
  • Please do not include paragraph breaks or additional text. Only list the courses and credits. Ex) CPSC 320 (3), MATH 101 (3), CPEN 450 (4), ASIA 263 (3)
