UBC Engineering students have a variety of registration needs depending on their year level, program, and special circumstances. EAS is here to ensure you have the tools and knowledge to register for your required courses.

Registration Timeline

Winter Session Registration (September-April)

Registration for Winter Session Term 1 and 2 takes place over the summer. You will register for both Winter terms during the registration period. You can find the specific registration dates for different student groups on the UBC Student Services Registration Dates page.

General Timeline:

  • Mid-May: Winter schedule is published and available to view on the UBC Course Schedule
  • Early June: For Upper Year students, academic standing and year level progression from the previous Winter session become available.
  • Mid to Late June: Registration times will become available and will be emailed to students.
  • Late June to Early July: Winter Session registration period
  • Early July: Second Year Placement results will be emailed before the second year registration occurs

Note: Until sessional evaluations take place, your registration may show as ineligible. This is normal, and will be updated before registration.

Summer Session Registration (May-August)

Registration for Summer Session Term 1 and 2 takes place in early Spring. You will register for both Summer terms during the registration period. You can find the specific registration dates for different student groups on the UBC Student Services Registration Dates page.

Note: summer courses are optional for most students.

General Timeline:

  • Late January: Summer schedule is published and available to view on UBC Course Schedule
  • Early to Mid-February: Registration times will become available on the SSC
  • Late February to Early March: Summer registration period
